Newcastle make shock Man Utd transfer

Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi has taken a loan move to Newcastle United.

The news comes as quite a shock and out the blue as there were no rumours or speculation before hand.

Man Utd boss Alex Ferguson admits it was a big decision for the club as they don't have a great choice of strikers at the moment, however, Rossie will gain vital experience playing at Newcastle and will come back to the club a better player.

The loan deal runs out in January.

"It was a big decision for us, especially as we don't have the choice of strikers," said Ferguson to the Man United official website.

"But this is something that Giuseppe wanted, as he needs regular first-team football.

"When he returns, he will be a more experienced player who will be able to offer us much more."
