Dowie: We felt we had a very strong case

Charlton boss Iain Dowie is disappointed a work-permit was rejected for Christian Bolanos.

Dowie felt that Charlton had a very strong case to bring the Costa Rican to England as he's an emerging talent.

However, the home-office didn't see it this way and decided to reject the proposal, both parties will be very disappointed.
"We felt we had a very strong case," said Dowie.

"Christian is an emerging talent and has become a fixture in the Costa Rica side despite his age.

"So it is very disappointing, not just for us but for the lad as well."
