Celtic sign Newcastle target

Real Madrid midfielder Thomas Gravesen has agreed a deal with Scottish side Celtic.

Gravesen was also a target for Premiership side Newcastle as boss Glenn Roeder stated that they would be interested.

However, Gravesen has opted to join Celtic after suffering a lack of first team football at Real Madrid.

"I can only say Gordon Strachan, John Sivebaek (Gravesen's agent) and myself have come to an agreement and we are going to release a statement tomorrow," said Gravesen to the Daily Record.
