Bayern to bring in replacement for Man Utd bound Hargreaves

Barcelona player Mark van Bommel has left the club due to no guarantees he will play week in week out.

Bommel insisted that his chances of playing reguarly at Bayern Munich are so much greater as Michael Ballack has gone and Owen Hargreaves is close to leaving the club.

This spurs speculation that Bayern could be ready to sell Hargreaves to Man Utd and use Bommel as the replacement.

"I have left Barcelona because there were not enough guarantees that I would play every week," said van Bommel.

"With 24 top-class players, I know I can't expect that.

"But at Bayern Munich the chances of playing there are so much bigger, with Michael Ballack gone and Owen Hargreaves close to leaving the club."
