Jol hints at Downing last effort

Tottenham boss Martin Jol has revealed that the club might make a last effort to sign Stuart Downing from Middlesbrough.

There has been much speculation linking the two together and it's thought that Tottenham have already had some bids rejected. However, they still appear to be keen as Jol fails to give a specific answer as to whether he is going to make a move or not.

"Maybe yes, maybe no," said Jol on whether Tottenham are going to make a move for Downing.

"There are a couple of days left and we will have to wait and see. I don't want to talk about others players.
