Chelsea make long-awaited left-back signing

Chelsea have signed Khalid Boulahrouz from Hamburg.

Boulahrouz plays either left-back or center back and is thought to be the man to complement Wayne Bridge.

With Ashley Cole's move to Chelsea looking even more unlikely with this latest arrival, Wayne Bridge is tipped to be Mourinho's first choice.

"He is a good, competitive player and will be a good addition to our squad," said Clarke to Chelsea TV.

"He can play centre back or either full back. It is important to have one or two players around the squad who can play in a number of different positions."
