Arsenal ace looking unlikely to sign for Chelsea

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has admitted he doesn't know whether Arsenal defender Ashley Cole is close or far to a move to the club.

There has been much speculation regarding the left back and there's a very good chance he'll be on his way out. There have been reports that Arsenal offered Cole to Newcastle, but they were having none of it.

Now Mourinho insists he has no idea about the negotiations with Cole, but he's happy with the way Bridge is playing.

"I don't know if he (Cole) is close or far," said Mourinho to Sky Sports.

"I have no idea about that, I don't know about the negotiations so I cannot tell you.

"All I know is that Bridge played a good game, he is improving a lot and I am happy with his performance and I am happy to have Boulahrouz, as he is a multi-functional player who gives us security."

Wenger should name Cole in his squad for the midweek qualifier so if Chelsea are prepared to meet Arsenal's valuation they will have to do it now rather than with 1 hour before the transfer deadline to stop Arsene spending the funds on alternative players.I find it hilarious that Chelsea have apparently woken up to the true value of football players when they have wasted millions on the likes of Mutu,Veron and Johnson to name but a few,ie who else was bidding over £20 million for Shevshenko let alone the £30 million Chelsea paid, the same principle applies to Drogba,SWP and Duff who has just been sold for a £12 million loss so if Chelsea think Arsenal will sell a proven quality left back for a reasonable price Chelsea are having a laugh.

I hope he plays for Arsenal in midweek so that this saga can end. Bridge is playing well and we've just signed a defender who can play at left back so we don't need him. Leave him at Arsenal to sour the dressing room and deprive Arsenal of funds at the same time.
