Real Madrid defender wants to stay - destroying Arsenal rumours

Jonathan Woodgate is set to stay with Real Madrid despite interest from the Premiership.

Arsenal are the most recent team to show an interest in the former Leeds and Newcastle man, however, today Woodgate has stated he wants to win two titles with Real this season.

Having had an unsuccessful time so far with injuries in Madrid, Woodgate is keen to make a success of his move there.

"My challenge is to win two titles with Real this season," said Woodgate.

"I have never worried about my contract, I have two years left on it and I am thinking about staying.

"I am feeling fit and am very optimistic about the new season."
